About Fish & Cross Ranch
Faith, Heritage, & The Cowboy Way
Welcome to Fish & Cross Ranch, a working cattle ranch located in Colorado’s Yampa Valley. Our family has been blessed to live and work here, carrying forward traditions rooted in faith, heritage, and the cowboy way. From the mountain views to the cattle pastures, the ranch is more than land—it is a way of life shaped by generations of hard work, resilience, and devotion to God.
Our Heritage

The story of Fish & Cross Ranch began when Allen and Teresa Snyder moved to Colorado in the 1970s. With Allen’s background in high-tech and entrepreneurship and Teresa’s heart for faith and family, they built a home and a legacy that would last for generations. Life on the ranch—raising cattle, caring for horses, and managing land in the Yampa Valley requires grit. But through it all, they trusted God’s provision and leaned into values of stewardship and service.
Over time, Fish & Cross Ranch became more than a place for cattle and crops. It grew into a gathering place for family, friends, and community. Campfires, branding days, and shared meals around long ranch tables became part of its rhythm. The heritage of those early days continues to shape everything we do today.

Teresa Snyder’s Legacy
In Loving memory of Teresa Snyder – 1954 – 2019
Teresa Snyder, the inspiration behind the Fish & Cross Ranch, had a deep love for the land, family, and community — but most of all, she had a profound love for Jesus Christ.
Her life reflects the values of faith, heritage, and the cowboy way that guide everything we do at the ranch. From cooking for guests, hosting company, and sharing her faith, Teresa worked to preserve the ranch lifestyle for future generations.
Teresa lives on through the hard work, creativity, and devotion to family manifested on the Fish & Cross Ranch every single day.
Yampa Valley Life
Life on the ranch is woven into the fabric of Colorado’s Yampa Valley. Each season brings new work and new beauty. Summers are filled with haying, long days in the saddle, and children learning to rope or ride. Fall means cattle roundups, crisp mornings, and community harvest gatherings. Winter brings feeding, care for livestock in the snow, and sleigh rides through the pastures. Spring renews the land with calving season, fresh grass, and the joy of new beginnings.
At Fish & Cross Ranch, daily life is not just work—it is worship.
At Fish & Cross Ranch, daily life is not just work—it is worship. Tending cattle, training ranch-raised AQHA horses, and caring for the land are acts of stewardship, honoring the Creator. Evenings often end around the table with family and friends, reflecting the values of the cowboy way: integrity, perseverance, hospitality, and gratitude.
