We watched the fire all day.
Closed all the windows to keep any smoke out.
But we watched and thankfully, we didn’t see much change.
Early afternoon, we saw a plane headed that direction.
By late afternoon, It was shifting some.
A little to the right,
Then to the left.
A little farther back,
Then a move closer.
Blue sky.
Dark sky.
We slept with the windows closed.
Something I don’t like to do except when its colder than freezing.
This morning, I woke up to Al’s voice. “Bitsy, come see the fire!”
And this, this is what I saw at 5:00.

Such a dichotomy. Both eerily beautiful and terribly frightening.
By the time I got to the front of the house, 30 minutes had passed, and it looked different again.
