Mending on the Ranch: Giving Penguin a Second Chance

Life on the ranch has a rhythm all its own—and part of that rhythm is mending. There’s always something in need of a few stitches. A torn work shirt, a frayed sleeve, or a pair of jeans that’s seen one too many days on horseback.

But my favorite things to mend aren’t the practical ones. They’re the loved ones.

Meet Penguin—a well-loved stuffed animal who came in for a bit of surgery. His right arm had given out, but with a few careful stitches and some patience, he’s back in action. It’s a little stiff (as old injuries often are), but I’m confident it’ll loosen up in time.

There’s something sweet about mending—about bringing back what was broken instead of tossing it aside. It’s the same spirit that keeps this ranch going: fix what you can, and make it last.
