Around here, the 4th of July in Yampa is a big deal—parades, fireworks, and plenty of small-town pride flying high. This year, I’m celebrating by making a few custom 4th of July sublimation shirts with my Cricut.
I started by designing the artwork in Canva, pulling together something that felt festive but still western at heart. The result was clean and simple—bold lettering, a touch of Americana, and a nod to ranch life.
Since sublimation only works on polyester fabric, these shirts have a very different feel from my usual cotton ones. The design becomes part of the fabric itself, which gives it that bright, crisp finish I love.
Earlier this year, I used the same pattern for the CAN-AM game shirts, and they turned out great. The iron-on sublimation held up beautifully—sharp edges, bright color, and no peeling, even after a few washes.

If you’re curious about trying sublimation yourself, I’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Maker. I’ve learned so much for her.
